Taylor Fukuzawa of East Wenatchee Fatally Struck on Highway 28 [East Wenatchee, WA]

East Wenatchee, WA (January 15, 2022) – On Thursday, 28-year-old Taylor Fukuzawa of East Wenatchee died in a pedestrian accident on Highway 28 involving 58-year-old Paul Hesselgesser of Selah.

The fatal accident took place at 6 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of the highway.

Apparently, Fukuzawa was attempting to help a deer when a 2021 International box truck driven by Hesselgesser struck her.

Reports said Hesselgesser was unable to stop in time to avoid the accident.

Unfortunately, Fukuzawa died at the crash scene.

Moreover, the State Patrol says Hesselgesser did not sustain injuries from the accident, and drugs or alcohol were not a factor in the collision.

The authorities said there are no charges against Hesselgesser.
