43-Year-Old Woman Struck and Killed by Car near 50 Freeway
OAKLAND, CA (March 9, 2018) – A woman was killed on Friday morning, in a hit-and-run collision on San Pablo Avenue near Highway 50.
The coroner’s office identified the victim as 43-year-old Tanya Peterson. She sustained fatal injuries from the accident that occurred at the 3200 block of San Pablo Avenue near the 50 Freeway overpass, around 2:08 AM. She was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency personnel.
Police have reason to believe the suspect vehicle was driving northbound on San Pablo when it struck Peterson, and is possibly metallic blue in color. The victim was apparently trying to cross the street when the collision occurred but it was not immediately confirmed if she was walking on a marked crosswalk.
