1 Person Injured after Multi-Vehicle Crash on SH 249 in Grimes County
Grimes County, TX (September 28, 2023) – Thursday morning, 22-year-old Sydney Arthur died, and one person sustained injuries in a multi-vehicle crash on SH 249.
The fatal crash happened at around 9:50 a.m. on September 28.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a 2000 International 18-wheeler was traveling southbound on SH 249, and 2021 Ford F250 was traveling northbound.
The Ford drove onto the wrong side of the road and struck the 18-wheeler. The 18-wheeler then veered into the northbound lanes and struck a 2020 BMW X5 head-on.
The driver of the BMW, Arthur, of Navasota died.
The driver of the Ford had minor injuries and was taken to Tomball Regional. The driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured.
Further investigation to determine the cause of the crash is ongoing.
