Injuries Reported in Eagle Lake Plane Accident
EAGLE LAKE, TX (July 17, 2024) – Tuesday, SWAT members suffered injuries in a helicopter crash in Eagle Lake.
Reports said that SWAT members with the Harris Co. Sheriff’s Office were hospitalized during a training exercise in Eagle Lake.
Details are still emerging as the situation unfolds. According to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, five individuals were on board the helicopter: four SWAT members and the pilot.
The cause of the helicopter’s hard landing or crash remains unknown, but none of the injuries are considered life-threatening.
All five individuals have been hospitalized. The rest of the course has been canceled, and all participants have been sent home while Texas DPS and Federal Aviation officials carry out their investigation.
