Woman Killed in Highway 1 Pedestrian Accident
Santa Cruz County, CA (December 19, 2022) On Friday afternoon, a vehicle accident on Swanton Road claimed the life of a 76-year-old woman.
The CHP says that the deadly pedestrian accident happened at around 3 p.m. east of State Highway 1.
Reports say that a 2002 Ford backed up and fatally struck the female pedestrian standing in the driveway.
Authorities say that a 76-year-old man was driving the Ford. Officials say that the man stayed at the scene and waited for officials to arrive.
Additionally, officials say that the woman suffered serious injuries due to the crash. Paramedics transported the patient to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, however, the woman succumbed to her injuries and died at the hospital.
Furthermore, CHP is investigating the fatal vehicle accident and have ruled out impairment as a factor in the crash.
