Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident Near McCormack Avenue
SACRAMENTO, CA (August 24, 2019) – A hit-and-run car on North 16th Street struck a suspected homeless man on Saturday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near McCormack Avenue at approximately 2:30 PM. Based on a report, the man, who is suspected to be homeless based on the bags that he carried with him, was struck by an unidentified car. After that, the car left the scene after the incident.
Police reported the victim to be in critical condition.
The roads were clogged for several hours while clearing and cleaning operations took place in the area.
An investigation is currently ongoing to identify and locate the hit-and-run suspect. Additional information has yet to be released.
