Police Pursuit Ends in Accident in Anaheim
ANAHEIM, CA (January 27, 2019) – Sunday night, an unidentified male was involved in a police pursuit on Gilbert Street which ended in a three vehicle accident.
Orange County Sheriff’s Department stated that officers attempted to pull over the vehicle for a code violation but he proceeded to drive away. The suspect eluded police several times, but they were able to approach the driver and perform a dangerous pit maneuver.
The maneuver caused the vehicle to skid into two vehicles stopped at a red light at the intersection of West Ball Road and Gilbert Street.
It is not clear if the people in the two vehicles were injured.
The driver surrendered at 9:54 PM and officers found nine grams of methamphetamine on him and an additional fifty-seven grams were found inside the vehicle along with plastic bags and a scale. He was arrested on a suspicion of DUI, possession for sale, and felony evading.
