Wrong-Way Driver Causes Head-On Collision on SR 520 in Hunts Point
Hunts Point, WA (December 1, 2024) On Sunday morning, a 26-year-old male driver was hurt after a suspected DUI collision on State Route 520.
According to the Washington State Patrol (WSP), the head-on collision happened after midnight on the westbound lanes of State Route 520.
Reports say that a 60-year-old man drove a Hyundai Elantra eastbound in the westbound lanes of SR 520 early Sunday morning, causing a head-on collision with a BMW.
The crash, which occurred just after midnight, left the 26-year-old BMW driver hospitalized at Harborview Medical Center. His condition remains unknown.
Although the Hyundai driver was unharmed, both vehicles sustained total damage. Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash, and the Hyundai driver now faces impaired driving and vehicular assault charges.
