Susan Aldworth Hospitalized after Two-Vehicle Crash on State Route 2
Spokane, WA (August 23, 2020) – Saturday evening, 72-year-old Susan Aldworth sustained injuries after a two-vehicle crash on State Route 2 near the airport.
The incident happened just before 6 p.m. on August 22.
Police say a 30-year-old Benjamin Reuland was driving west on the Spokane International Airport highway eastbound offramp when he struck Susan Aldworth.
Emergency crews transported Aldworth to a hospital with injuries. Meanwhile, Reuland was uninjured but taken to the hospital as a precaution.
Moreover, both drivers were wearing a seatbelt. Both SUVs were totaled in the crash.
Investigators say drugs and alcohol are factors in the crash.
At this time, Reuland faces charges of vehicular assault in the crash.
