39-Year-Old Rancho Cucamonga Bicyclist Killed in Collision with Garbage Truck near East Holt Boulevard
ONTARIO, CA (September 7, 2018) – A woman was killed Friday afternoon following a bicycle collision near East Holt Boulevard. The victim was later identified as 39-year-old Summer Harrison of Rancho Cucamonga.
According to the Ontario Police Department, the incident took place at about 3:30 PM. A garbage truck made a left turn from East Holt Boulevard onto North Imperial Avenue when a bicycle slammed into its side.
The driver of the truck stopped at the scene and immediately notified emergency services. Harrison was later transported to a local hospital for treatment and evaluation. Unfortunately, she later succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead by medical staff.
Alcohol and drugs were ruled out as possible contributing factors in the fatal crash; however, an investigation is still ongoing to determine the cause of the collision.
