26-Year-Old Thrown Off Motorcycle and Died after being Struck by Big Rig on 605 Freeway near 60 Freeway
INDUSTRY, CA (March 14, 2018) – A motorcyclist died after being struck by a big rig on the 605 (San Gabriel) Freeway, on Wednesday afternoon.
The California Highway Patrol was alerted about the crash around 3:21 PM. According to CHP Officer Jeremy Tolen, a Yamaha was driving about 65 mph in the No. 4 lane, when it suddenly traveled at high speeds for unknown reasons.
The motorcyclist was then struck by the rear wheels of a truck in the next lane, which caused the rider to be thrown off the bike. The motorcycle ended up on its side in the road. The man died at the scene of the incident on the northbound 605 Freeway, south of the 60 (Pomona) Freeway. The 48-year-old Santa Ana man driving the truck was not injured.
Lt. Dave Smith with the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner’s Office, identified the motorcyclist as 26-year-old Suchet Lim of Chino.
