Sucha Randhawa Dies in Fatal Sammamish Semi-Truck Accident
SAMMAMISH, WA (July 16, 2019) – 72-year-old Sucha Randhawa from Renton was struck and killed in a head- on collision on the 202 Freeway Tuesday morning.
Officials reported the accident occurred around 5:00 AM on the 202 Freeway west of NE Ames Lake Road.
According to police, Randhawa was driving eastbound when his car went onto the westbound lane. As a result, he collided with a semi-truck. Also, the steering mechanism on the truck broke causing it to veer off the road over the guardrail and into an embankment.
Medics arrived immediately after. The truck driver sustained minor injuries as a result of the accident. However, there has been no update on his medical condition.
Traffic backed up for several hours as a result of the crash. However, police did not release any further information regarding the incident at this time. An investigation into the accident continues.
