Fatal Traffic Collision North of the Goose Meadows Campground
Truckee, CA (August 26, 2022) – On Friday, a Subaru driver sustained fatal injuries following a box truck collision on State Route 89.
The fatal collision happened at about 1:20 p.m., north of Goose Meadows campground.
According to the responding officers, a 43-year-old Vallejo man was driving a white international box truck northbound on the freeway at an undetermined speed.
Apparently, the box truck driver crossed over solid double yellow lines and drove through the southbound lane.
Unfortunately, as the box truck went into the southbound lane, it sideswiped a black Ford Eco Sport driven by a 42-year-old driver from Tempe, AZ.
Moreover, a white Subaru Impreza driven by a 37-year-old Olympic Valley resident and a black Subaru Outback driven by a 42-year-old Truckee resident, struck the box truck head-on.
Sadly, the white Subaru driver incurred fatal injuries.
The paramedics rushed the black Subaru driver and a box truck passenger to an area hospital with minor injuries.
In the meantime, the authorities are still investigating the cause of the deadly collision north of Goose Meadows campground. They say drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the accidentr
