Franklin Elementary School Student Struck by Vehicle on East 17th Avenue
Spokane, WA (February 10, 2022) – On Tuesday, a Franklin Elementary School student sustained injuries in a pedestrian accident on East 17th Avenue.
It was about 3 p.m. when the accident happened outside the South Hill school.
Emergency rescuers rushed the girl to a local hospital with non-fatal injuries.
Reports said the girl was in a crosswalk outside the school when the vehicle struck her.
Meanwhile, the involved driver stopped and cooperated with the investigation. Police said the driver did not show signs of impairment.
Officers cited the driver for suspicion of failure to yield in a school zone crosswalk.

Start by inspecting your vehicle’s headlights and turn signals. Be sure that both front and rear headlamps are working properly and visible enough a couple of yards away.
