Suspect Turns Himself in After Hit-and-Run Collision on South Airport Way and East Hazelton Avenue
STOCKTON, CA (February 24, 2018) – A pedestrian was killed on Saturday in a hit-and-run collision on South Airport Way on Saturday.
According to officials, the accident happened around 7:30 PM South Airport Way and Hazelton Avenue. The Stockton Police Department received a report that a silver SUV struck a pedestrian near South Airport Way and East Hazelton Avenue. The driver left the scene, reportedly headed northbound on Airport Way.
The suspect turned himself into the police on Sunday morning. Investigators interviewed him and took possession of his car; the man was later released per The District Attorney’s Office. No charges have been filed as of this time.
Stockton Police are still conducting an investigation of the incident. The identity of the victim has not yet been released.
