Car Plunges 600 Feet Off Cliff at Mt. Tamalpais State Park Killing the Driver
STINSON BEACH, CA (March 23, 2019) – A man was killed when his vehicle plunged off a cliff Saturday morning in Marin County.
At about 10:12 a.m., a hiker reported that a four-door sedan had driven off a cliff at Ridgecrest Boulevard and Laurel Dell Road, in Mt. Tamalpais State Park.
The car landed 600 feet below the roadway. A Sonoma County sheriff’s helicopter staged a rescue operation along with local fire crews.
The victim was airlifted to the roadway and was pronounced dead. He was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
Further details, including the identity of the deceased, were not immediately available. The incident remains under investigation.
