30-Year-Old Steven Runyan Arrested in Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash on 17th Street [Yucaipa, CA]

Yucaipa, CA (September 21, 2024) On Thursday evening, authorities arrested 30-year-old Steven Runyan of Redlands, after a Hit-and-Run Crash on 17th Street.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, the fatal crash happened around 9:45 p.m. near the intersection of Yucaipa Boulevard and 17th Street.

Reports say that Runyan was identified as the driver who fatally struck a pedestrian in Yucaipa on Thursday night.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department reported that the victim, a 62-year-old Yucaipa resident, was found deceased near the intersection.

Investigators determined that a black 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee hit the pedestrian and fled the scene. Runyan, was later arrested for felony hit-and-run causing injury and booked into the Central Detention Center on $30,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in San Bernardino Superior Court on Tuesday.
