Injuries Reported in San Diego Pedestrian Accident on Seventh Avenue
SAN DIEGO, CA (August 18, 2024) – Saturday morning, Steven Ross was involved in a startling pedestrian crash on Seventh Avenue.
The incident happened just before 4:30 a.m. as 29-year-old Ross drove a silver Mercedes sedan north on Seventh Avenue.
Authorities reported that Ross was first involved in a crash with a parked car on Fifth Avenue, around the 1400 block, before leaving the scene.
Later, while crossing the intersection at Seventh Avenue and Cedar Street, a 24-year-old male pedestrian was struck by Ross after he failed to yield. The pedestrian, who sustained an open fracture in his left leg, was transported to a nearby hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
Ross fled the scene again but was apprehended after a brief foot chase when he parked on Eighth Avenue. He was arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run and DUI causing injury. The Traffic Division is investigating, and anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
