28-Year-Old Los Banos Man Hospitalized after Crash on Cane Lane and Rippon Road
VALLEY SPRINGS, CA (March 12, 2018) – A motorcyclist was struck and injured by a vehicle on the intersection of Cane Lane and Rippon Road on Monday afternoon, around 1:50 PM.
28-year-old Steven Marcus Barron of Los Banos was riding westbound on Rippon in a 2012 Yamaha R-1 motorcycle at about 35 mph, approaching a 2005 GMC Sierra Truck that was stopped at the intersection. 42-year-old Paul Wallace failed to notice Barron, and began driving.
The motorcyclists tried to avoid the collision, but the front of the GMC crashed into the left side of the Yamaha. Barron suffered injuries and was transported to the Lodi Memorial Hospital by ambulance. There is no update on his current condition.
Police officials said that drugs and alcohol did not play a role in the accident.
