2 Injured in Fresno Car Collision on First Street
FRESNO, CA (January 16, 2020) – Authorities arrested an injured man following a car collision on First Street on January 15.
According to reports, Steven Hernandez led deputies on a chase. However, he sustained injuries after crashing into a tire shop.
The deputies attempted to stop Hernandez, over just after 1:00 a.m. at First Street and McKinley Avenue for failing to stop at a red light. However, Steven Hernandez fled and the chase started through city streets at speeds over 90 miles per hour.
When Hernandez attempted to turn on Rowell Avenue near Belmont, his car struck a stop sign and crashed into a nearby tire shop.
Hernandez attempted to escape but the car got stalled.
According to deputies, Hernandez has a warrant for failing to register as a sex offender.
Meanwhile, responders transported his female passenger to the hospital for injuries sustained in the collision.
