60-Year-Old Steven Chalcraft Killed in Crash on Interstate 80
Benton County, WA (January 09, 2021) – On Thursday, 60-year-old Steven Chalcraft of Kennewick died in a tragic wrong-way crash on Interstate 80.
The fatal accident happened before 11:00 p.m. near milepost 86.
Chalcraft was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes when he crashed into a vehicle heading to the opposite direction.
Then, the vehicle he crashed into also crashed into a third vehicle.
Officers pronounced Chalcraft dead at the scene.
Washington State Patrol said Chalcraft’s next of kin has been notified.
On the other hand, responders took another person to the hospital to be treated for injuries.
Moreover, authorities said Chalcraft was not wearing a seat belt during the crash. It was not identified if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
The authorities continue to investigate the crash.
