Javier Sanchez-Zepeda Involved in Big Rig Crash on SR-17
Grant County, WA (October 5, 2022) On Tuesday, 57-year-old Steven Booth of Warden, 67-year-old Stephen Fuchs and 41-year-old Mathew Bobbitt both of College Place, suffered injuries in a 3-vehicle crash on Highway 17.
Authorities say that the big rig crash happened around 2 p.m. on SR-17 west of Warden in Grant County.
Reports say that a semi driven by 27-year-old Javier Sanchez-Zepeda struck the 2001 Chevy Silverado Pickup, Booth is driving. The impact of the collision sent the SUV to the 2008 Subaru Outback carrying Fuchs and Bobbitt.
All people involved in the crash sustained injuries, paramedics transported the patients to a hospital. Meanwhile, officials cited Sanchez-Zepeda for following too closely.
WSP is investigating the incident and have not released additional information about the 3-vehicle crash on State Route 17.
