2 Hospitalized in South Lake Tahoe Auto Accident on State Route 89 near Luther Pass
SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, CA (August 8, 2021) – Friday morning, Stevan Fairover and Christiana Gray sustained injuries in a crash on State Route 89.
According to California Highway Patrol, the two-vehicle accident happened at around 6:15 a.m. Moreover, it occurred on California State Route 89 near Luther Pass.
Reports revealed that a southbound 2011 Dodge Ram pickup veered across the northbound lanes. Then, it sideswiped a gray Toyota Tundra pickup. The Dodge continued driving northbound after the first incident and collided head-on with a 2006 Chevy 2500.
Furthermore, responders transported the Dodge driver, 56-year old Stevan Fairover, and the Chevy driver, Christiana Gray. Responders extricated Christiana Gray from her vehicle. Both of them were taken to Barton Memorial Hospital with major injuries.
Moreover, the Toyota driver, 43-year-old Tristian Cormier, sustained no injuries in the crash.
Meanwhile, the incident closed State Route 89 but has long since reopened.
Also, CHP does not believe that DUI played a role in the crash.
It is important to always abide by all traffic laws and to do your part to prevent devastating consequences to you and others. Moreover, if you find yourself unable to safely operate a vehicle, there are always other options for transportation.
