Driver Arrested in Fatal DUI Crash Near Milepost 1
Vancouver, WA (February 4, 2024) – 67-year-old Stephen Wesley of Vancouver was killed in an Interstate 5 collision Saturday.
The fatal head-on crash unfolded near milepost 1.
Investigators said 43-year-old Amy Gaudette of Portland was southbound on the northbound freeway.
Gaudette collided head-on with a northbound vehicle driven by Wesley and her vehicle rested a quarter of a mile south of Wesley’s car.
Immediately, the paramedics rushed Wesley to a local hospital where he was declared dead.
Police arrested Gaudette on DUI and vehicular homicide charges.
