Stephen Purcell Fatally Injured in Los Altos Bicycle Accident
LOS ALTOS, CA (March 13, 2019) – A 67-year-old bicyclist from Mountain View died after being struck by a vehicle on Saturday, March 9.
The bicyclist, identified as Stephen Purcell, was riding at around 9:26 a.m. when a vehicle struck him at the intersection of Oak Avenue and Grant Road, according to a police press release.
Officers rushed Purcell to a hospital, where he died at about 6 p.m.
The driver remained at the crash site and cooperated with the investigation, police said. Investigators do not believe alcohol and drugs played a role in the incident.
Police did not release any additional information.
