Stephen Jacobson and Passenger Killed in Car Crash in Shelton
SHELTON, WA (January 9, 2019) – On Wednesday morning, 65-year-old Stephen Jacobson from Bremerton was killed in a head-on collision on Highway 101.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the accident occurred around 5:30 AM near Purdy Creek.
As per reports, Jacobson was traveling northbound, when he crossed the center-line and collided with a semi-truck who was driving southbound on the highway. No other motorist were involved in the incident.
Paramedics pronounced Jacobson and his 64-year-old female passenger dead at the scene. The truck driver, 44-year-old Todd Dewey from Port Angeles, was not injured.
The highway was closed in both directions for a brief time for cleanup and preliminary investigation, but has since been reopened. Drugs and alcohol were not considered factors in the crash.
No further details have been released to the public, as the investigation continues.
