Oceanside Resident Stephen Barrey Struck and Killed by Subaru on Highway 101
Windsor, CA (June 30, 2020) – On Saturday night, a man named Stephen Barrey, 38, was struck and killed on Highway 101 near Arata Lane.
Responding officers received a call about the tragic accident on June 27 at about 10:40 p.m. They found Mr. Barrey lying on the roadway, south of Arata Lane.
Preliminary reports said that the victim was in his BMW moving north on Highway 101. For reasons still unknown at this time, the BMW stopped on the right shoulder, and he got out of his car.
Then, a Subaru Outback approached his direction traveling northbound in the fast lane.
The Subaru then crashed into Mr. Barrey, which resulted in fatal injuries.
Shortly after, the Subaru driver pulled to the right shoulder and waited for emergency rescuers. He cooperated with the police during the investigation and was determined he was not under the influence at the time of the accident.
