Stephanie Zamora of Oceanside Hurt in Wrong-Way Crash on SR76 [Oceanside, CA]

Oceanside, CA (October 28, 2024) On Saturday, 20-year-old Stephanie Zamora of Oceanside was hurt after a wrong-way collision on State Route 76.

According to the Oceanside Police Department (OPD), the wrong-way crash happened at about 9:30 p.m. west of Melrose Drive.

Reports say that a man driving a tan Buick Century in the wrong direction on State Route 76 in Oceanside died following a head-on collision.

The Buick driver collided with a white Honda Clarity, driven by 20-year-old Stephanie Zamora of Oceanside.

Emergency responders declared the Buick driver dead at the scene due to severe injuries. His identity has not yet been released.

Officials say that Zamora sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Palomar Hospital in Escondido for treatment.

Police suspect that alcohol and/or drugs may have contributed to the collision on State Route 76.
