55-Year-Old Tulare County Woman Hospitalized after Collision near North 2nd Street
PORTERVILLE, CA (September 18, 2018) – A woman was critically injured in a pedestrian crash on Putnam Avenue, late Tuesday afternoon. The victim was later identified as 55-year-old Stephanie Cooley of Tulare County.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision took place at approximately 4:00 PM, near North 2nd Street.
The victim was crossing the street in a designated crosswalk when she was hit by a 2017 Chrysler that turned south onto Second, driven by a 16-year-old boy without a driver’s license. Officers said that Cooley was seriously injured when they found her in the roadway, and she was airlifted to the Kaweah Delta Medical Center. She was listed in critical condition.
