Aptos Woman Stephanie Bell Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Freedom Boulevard

 
SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA (March 10, 2021) – Tuesday afternoon, 25-year-old Stephanie Bell died in a rollover crash on Freedom Boulevard in Santa Cruz County.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at around 2:00 p.m.
 
A Volvo XC driver drove off the road and struck the woman on the south shoulder. Afterward, the Volvo overturned onto the shoulder.
 
As a result, the female pedestrian succumbed to her injuries at the scene. Meanwhile, the passenger in the vehicle was flown to a local hospital for moderate injuries.
 
Moreover, the CHP confirmed that the driver remained at the scene and has been cooperative with the investigation.
 
At this time, the authorities continue to investigate the crash. However, the CHP said that officers don’t think drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
 
According to CHP, the area on Freedom Boulevard and Day Valley Road remained closed during the investigation.
