OILDALE, CA (October 9, 2023) – Saturday morning, a startling vehicle crash on Merle Haggard Drive and Airport Drive injured one person.

Reports said that the incident happened at around 1:00 a.m. at the intersection of Merle Haggard Drive and Airport Drive.

According to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, a vehicle involved in a police chase intentionally rammed into a deputy’s patrol car that was stopped at the intersection and responding to a different call.

As a result, responders transported the deputy to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Moreover, officers managed to arrest the suspect with no further incident.
