Injuries Reported in Phoenix Auto Accident on Loop 101 near 56th Street
PHOENIX, AZ (April 2, 2023) – Saturday morning, a wrong-way driver caused a startling two-vehicle crash on Loop 101.
The incident happened just after 2:15 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of Loop 101 near 56th Street.
Arizona Department of Public Safety officials revealed that t a wrong-way driver heading westbound in the eastbound lanes. Upon their arrival, they located two vehicles in the area.
Then, responders took the wrong-way driver to the hospital with severe but non-life-threatening injuries.
Also, a man and a woman from the other vehicle were both taken to the hospital. Reports said that the man sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The woman also suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Also, the incident shut down the road for a few hours overnight as DPS investigated the crash.
DPS officials haven’t ruled out intoxication as a factor in the crash.
Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
