2 People Hospitalized in Bakersfield Traffic Accident on Interstate 5 near Lebec Road

BAKERSFIELD, CA (December 19, 2023) – Monday morning, a startling two-vehicle crash on Interstate 5 near Lebec Road injured six people.

The incident happened at around 6:53 a.m. on Interstate 5 near Lebec Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a car collided with a bus for still unknown reasons. Then, the force of the crash pushed the car off the roadway and into a guard rail, fence, and bridge pillar.

Moreover, officers confirmed that four occupants of the bus complained of pain. Then, paramedics airlifted the male driver of the car with face injuries and his female passenger with severe injuries to a hospital for treatment.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the CHP continued to investigate the crash.
