Injuries Reported in Brownsville Auto Accident near Rancho Viejo

BROWNSVILLE, TX (July 20, 2023) – Wednesday, a startling traffic crash near Rancho Viejo injured 3 people.

The crash happened around noon on the southbound lane of the expressway near Rancho Viejo.

Brownsville Fire Department Chief Jarrett Sheldon revealed that a vehicle hit a trailing vehicle of the TxDOT motorcade that was protecting a street sweeper.

After the crash, responders transported three people to a local hospital, including a “younger patient” who was in critical condition.

Brownsville Fire and EMS, as well as Harlingen EMS, all came to the crash scene.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.

Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
