Injuries Sustained in Houston Auto Accident on Northbound 99 South and Katy Freeway

HOUSTON, TX (October 19, 2023) – Tuesday, a startling speeding crash on Northbound 99 South and Katy Freeway led to injuries.

The incident happened at 10:12 p.m. on Northbound 99 South of Kingsland.

According to reports, a white Chevy Camaro possibly drove over the speed limit and collided with a white Toyota RAV4.

Officers said that the white Toyota RAV4 traveled in the north direction along the main lanes, approaching Katy Freeway.

As the Camaro approached the RAV4’s rear, it drove fast in the same direction.

Eventually, the Camaro lost control and struck the RAV4 from behind.

Officers revealed that an 18-year-old woman drove the Camaro with a 16-year-old female passenger. Meanwhile, the RAV4 was driven by a man.

After the impact, the Camaro driver exited the car and left her passenger inside. Then, officers later captured her hiding at a gas station nearby.

Officers added that two women occupied the RAV4. The driver and one of the women sustained moderate injuries. Then, both of them were transported to a hospital in critical condition.

Meanwhile, investigators said that the Camaro driver showed no signs of intoxication. However, she was arrested for failure to stop and render aid.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
