Injuries Reported in Phoenix Auto Accident on Copper Basin Road near Presscott
PHOENIX, AZ (December 28, 2023) – Tuesday morning, a startling rollover crash on Copper Basin Road near Prescott injured 1 person.
The incident occurred at about 2:00 a.m. on Copper Basin Road, south of Prescott.
Reports from the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office revealed that five teens, ages 15 to 17, rode a car where the driver may have been speeding and went too fast for a turn.
As a result, the driver struck an embankment and the car overturned onto the driver’s side.
After the crash, four teens sustained no injuries. However, a 15-year-old girl had serious head injuries and she was ejected from the backseat into the windshield.
Officers confirmed that she was the only one who wasn’t wearing a seatbelt.
Then, responders airlifted the girl to a hospital in Phoenix, where she is in critical condition in the ICU.
Furthermore, the deputies don’t believe impairment played a role in the crash. Also, the authorities haven’t disclosed the identities of the parties involved.
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
