Injuries Reported in San Diego Pedestrian Accident on W Cedar Street and State Street

SAN DIEGO, CA (January 28, 2024) – Saturday night, a 55-year-old woman suffered injuries in a startling pedestrian crash on W Cedar Street and State Street.

The crash happened at 6:42 p.m. on West Cedar Street and State Street, said San Diego police officer Robert Helms.

According to reports, a 53-year-old driver traveled west on Cedar Street in a 2003 GMC Yukon. Then, it stopped at a stop sign at the intersection. “He did not see the pedestrian and pulled forward and struck her,” Heims said.

As a result, responders took the female pedestrian to a hospital with a fractured pelvis.

Officers added that the crosswalk was not marked. Meanwhile, the authorities ruled out alcohol as a factor in the crash.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.

Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
