Injuries Reported in Laredo Pedestrian Accident on 616 Del Mar Boulevard
LAREDO, TX (February 28, 2024) – Monday night, a startling pedestrian crash on 616 Del Mar Boulevard injured 1 person.
The crash occurred at about 8:00 p.m. near the Laredo Fire Department Administration Center located at 616 Del Mar Boulevard, near a local polling site.
According to Laredo Police, the woman campaigning was trying to cross the street. However, she was struck by a vehicle’s side view mirror.
After the crash, the driver stopped to make sure the woman was ok until paramedics arrived.
The woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Meanwhile, police encouraged others to be cautious when campaigning around town.
“We’re just here to kind of remind very respectfully to everybody who’s involved in the campaigning or supporting people who are out there. Do it respectfully and be mindful also of the ordinances that are in place so that they for one guarantee the people’s safety and also the distractions not so bad that the person who is driving through the area can’t even operate a motor vehicle without hitting someone on the sidewalk,” the police said.
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
