Injuries Reported in San Diego Pedestrian Accident on 30th Street near University Avenue
SAN DIEGO, CA (May 6, 2024) – Saturday night, a startling pedestrian crash on 30th Street near University Avenue injured 1 person.
The incident happened at about 10:00 p.m. when a 32-year-old man crossed 30th Street in the south crosswalk of University Avenue from the west to the east against the red light.
At the same moment, authorities reported that a 32-year-old man was driving a 2018 Toyota Camry northbound on 30th Street, approaching University Avenue with a green light.
Meanwhile, the pedestrian reportedly walked into the path of the vehicle and was subsequently struck. The impact caused the pedestrian to fall to the ground. The injured individual was then transported to Scripps Mercy Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Following the incident, the Traffic Division responded and will be investigating the matter. Police have confirmed that DUI was not a factor in the collision.
