Injuries Reported in Killeen Multi-Vehicle Accident on N 10th Street and Santa Fe Plaza Drive

KILLEEN, TX (January 7, 2024) – Late Friday night, a startling multi-vehicle crash on N 10th Street and Santa Fe Plaza Drive injured 2 people.

The incident happened at 10:57 p.m. on N 10th Street and Santa Fe Plaza Drive. According to reports, a red Dodge SUV rammed into a Killeen police patrol vehicle at the intersection.

After the crash, the SUV driver didn’t stop and continued fleeing at a high rate of speed.

Meanwhile, the officer suffered no serious injuries.

However, at 11:03 p.m., a second patrol officer spotted the red Dodge SUV driving southbound on WS Young Drive and approaching Central Texas Expressway while speeding.

Then, the Dodge hit a silver Honda sedan in the intersection. After the second crash, responders took two people in the Honda to Baylor Scott and White Hospital with serious injuries.

Meanwhile, officers arrested the driver of the red Dodge SUV and moved him to Seton Medical Center Harker Heights to treat minor injuries. Eventually, officers later moved the suspect to Killeen City Jail.

Officers charged the driver with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, and duty to give information and render aid.

Furthermore, he is currently in Bell County Jail.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
