Injuries Reported in Emeryville Multi-Vehicle Accident on Interstate 80 and Powell Street

EMERYVILLE, CA (August 16, 2023) – Monday night, a startling multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 80 and Powell Street injured 1 person.

The incident happened when a big rig crashed into the center divider. Officers confirmed that the crash involved three other vehicles. Also, one driver sustained significant injuries.

The crash shut down the eastbound lanes on Interstate 80. It also blocked four lanes on westbound Interstate 80 as responders tried to clear the scene of the accident.

According to CHP, the crash leaked out at least 20 gallons off the big rig onto the highway. Then, the state agency clarified that no drainages were affected.
