BLACK CANYON CITY, AZ (August 20, 2024) – Sunday afternoon, a startling multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 17 led to injuries. 

The incident happened at around 12:20 a.m. on Interstate 17.

According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the incident involved four vehicles.

Authorities confirmed that minor injuries were sustained in the crash.

The incident caused about 10 miles of traffic backup on the southbound lanes of Interstate 17. All lanes have long since reopened.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.

Due to the limited information available, the DPS continued investigating the crash.
