2 Injured in Albuquerque Multi-Vehicle Accident on Gibson Boulevard and Girard Boulevard
ALBUQUERQUE, NM (September 23, 2024) – Saturday, a startling multi-vehicle crash on Gibson Boulevard led to injuries.
The incident happened just before 1:35 p.m. on Gibson Boulevard and Girard Boulevard.
A car reportedly rolled over in the crash, and a bystander noted a gas line was leaking. When officers and rescue teams arrived, they found two individuals with serious injuries.
AFR’s Rescue 4 and Rescue 5 transported the injured to a local hospital. The NM Gas company arrived to shut off the gas, while APD officers and Police Service Aides closed off streets in the area for the gas leak and crash investigation. Gibson Avenue was shut down between Amherst and Yale.
APD’s Motors Unit responded to investigate the serious-injury crash at Gibson and Girard. Drivers were advised to avoid the area.
