Riverside Multi-Vehicle Accident on Interstate 215 near University Avenue

RIVERSIDE, CA (July 21, 2023) – Thursday afternoon, a startling hit-and-run crash on Interstate 215 near University Avenue led to injuries.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 4:15 p.m. near the University Avenue exit from southbound Interstate 215.

Officers revealed that the driver of a sedan struck three motorists, injuring 1 person. Then, the driver fled the scene after the crash.

Reports confirmed that the suspect vehicle struck a Honda Civic, another sedan, and an SUV.

After the crash, the occupant of one of the sedans sustained minor to moderate injuries, according to the CHP.

Riverside Fire Department paramedics also came to the scene and treated the victim. However, the authorities haven’t clarified whether the victim was transported to a hospital.

Moreover, CHP officers did not disclose a description of the suspect’s SUV.

Also, the authorities haven’t determined whether the suspect was involved in a road rage confrontation, driving under the influence, or simply out of control.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
