AMARILLO, TX (June 8, 2023) – Wednesday morning, a startling hit-and-run crash near Northeast 15th Avenue and North Garfield Street injured 1 person.

The incident occurred at about 9:54 a.m. on Almond Avenue near Northeast 15th Avenue and North Garfield Street.

According to a report, a woman called 911, saying that someone was attempting to run her over. Then, the woman hung up and the authorities couldn’t call her back.

When responders arrived, they found a white Ford F-150 with a woman in the passenger seat who was waving them down.

As the officers turned around, the driver of the truck began driving erratically and failed to yield at stop signs.

Then, officers drove toward the truck but lost sight of it.

When officers reached Northeast 15th Avenue and North Garfield Street, they found the truck that had crashed into a metal pole.

Meanwhile, the woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital. Meanwhile, the driver ran away from the scene.
