No Major Injuries in Crandall Auto Accident on US Highway 175 and FM 148

CRANDALL, TX (March 31, 2024) – Early Monday, a startling crash on US Highway 175 and FM 148 involved a police vehicle.

The incident happened at about 5:00 a.m. Reports said that the Crandall Police Department and Crandall Fire Department came to a crash on the bridge of westbound U.S. Highway 175 and Farm-to-Market (FM) 148.

Officers shut down the highway and direct traffic onto the service road.

Reports indicate that two miles east of the initial crash site, a Crandall Police Department officer positioned his vehicle to redirect other motorists off the highway. Unfortunately, while the officer was outside the vehicle, it was rear-ended by another vehicle.

The driver of the other vehicle stated they did not see the police patrol vehicle before the collision. Both vehicles suffered substantial damage, but fortunately, no major injuries were reported.

“Please take extra precaution while operating your vehicle during inclement weather and avoid being distracted by things that could take your focus off the roadway,” said the Crandall Police Department.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.

Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
