Injuries Reported in Fortuna Bicycle Accident on 700 South Fortuna Boulevard
FORTUNA, CA (April 7, 2024) – Saturday afternoon, a young bicyclist sustained injuries in a startling crash on 700 South Fortuna Boulevard.
The incident happened at around 3:10 p.m. in the Fortuna Safeway parking lot located in the 700 Block of South Fortuna Boulevard.
According to reports, a six or seven-year-old bicyclist without a helmet crashed into a vehicle.
When first responders arrived, they called for an ambulance to come to Code 3 (with lights and sirens) after locating the child on the ground at the scene. Then, the child did speak and told the authorities that he was only on the ground because adults told him to stay there.
Responders transported the victim to the hospital and the extent of his injuries is unknown.
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
