EVERETT, WA (June 29, 2023) – Tuesday night, a startling car crash on Interstate 5 near Highway 526 injured 2 people.
The incident happened at around 7:35 p.m. on northbound Interstate 5 near Highway 56.
According to reports, a 40-year-old female Marysville driver drove a 1988 Ford Taurus, along with a 51-year-old Edgewood male passenger.
Then, the driver traveling at high speeds lost control and went across the width of the interstate. Eventually, they crashed into the barrier on the left side, overturned, and stopped in the carpool lane.
Officers confirmed that the passenger failed to wear a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Meanwhile, responders took both occupants to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.
Moreover, the authorities suspect that alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
