Injuries Reported in El Paso Bicycle Accident on Solano Drive and Lohman Avenue

EL PASO, TX (June 29, 2023) – Wednesday morning, a startling bicycle crash on Solano Drive and Lohman Avenue injured 1 person.

The incident occurred at about 7:00 a.m. on Solano Drive and Lohman Avenue.

According to reports, a southbound SUV traveled on Solano Drive. Then, it was hit on the driver’s side front quarter by the bicycle rider who was heading west on the sidewalk that borders Lohman Avenue.

Witnesses noted that the SUV traveled at an appropriate speed and had a green light to drive south on Solano. Meanwhile, the bicyclist failed to yield at Solano and rode through the intersection without “dismounting” the bike.

As a result, the bicyclist sustained potentially life-threatening injuries and was given emergency first aid. Then, responders airlifted the bicyclist to a hospital in El Paso.

Meanwhile, the SUV driver stayed at the scene and has been cooperative with the investigation.

Moreover, the authorities shut down the intersection as the crews investigate.
