Injuries Reported in Oxnard Bicycle Accident on Gonzales Road and Outlet Center Drive
OXNARD, CA (August 25, 2024) – Early Thursday night, a startling bicycle crash on Gonzales Road and Outlet Center Drive injured 1 person.
The incident happened just after 7:00 p.m. on Gonzales Road and Outlet Center Drive.
According to reports, a 2021 Hyundai Sonata struck a man riding a bike near a 7-Eleven.
Officers and paramedics arrived to find a 34-year-old Oxnard man lying on Gonzales Road, with his bicycle found on the center median. Paramedics provided medical assistance and transported him to Ventura County Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition Thursday night. As of Friday, there were no updates on his condition.
According to a preliminary investigation by the police, the car, driven by a 33-year-old Ventura woman, was traveling westbound on Gonzales when the cyclist, who had been riding southbound through the 7-Eleven parking lot at 2201 E. Gonzales Road, was struck as he entered the roadway.
The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the police. The investigation is ongoing.
